Huge events need to be announced in advance... Our 'bedroom' is also moved to the living room to be able to monitor and enjoy the puppies 24/7. The other members of our pack are fully included in the process but off course with respect to what the mother allows, only she decides when they are allowed to enter the litter box and participate teaching the pups to be proper dogs. Because our house does not have direct access to the garden we have build ourselves a garden home and another one next to it for the puppies. When the pups are four weeks old we all move to the garden, the grown-ups stay with us and the puppies in their own house. Here we will all stay until it's time for the pups to move to their new owners. The garden is filled with toys of all sorts for the pups to discover and learn from. We offer them various underground like sand, grass, woodchips and water so on to help them get used to walk with confident on all sorts of underground they will walk on during their future lives. In the garden the number of sounds introduced to the pups continues, motorsounds, lawn mowers, bursting balloons and music. From these day's on visitors and future puppy owners are most welcome to join us for a visit. Children are most welcome but off course have to be supervised when playing with the puppies. Every now and then we will take the puppies on a short drive in the car to introduce them even more to the outside world. Around the 6th and 7th weeks we will decide together with the future owners which puppy will fit to which family best. Needless to say our puppies will be de-wormed, vaccinated, micro-chipped and registered at TASSO registration plus, due to our clubs regulations, they will also be tattooed and all our pups will get an official FCI pedigree. We are members of the RRCD (Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Deutschland) and breed off course according to their Code of Ethics and strict regulations warranting you with the fact that we did all we possible can to breed healthy and sound Rhodesian Ridgebacks. In the 9th week our club will come to check, chip and tattoo the puppies for future registration.
After 9 weeks our puppies will start their new lives with their new owners. The new owners will receive a puppy box filed with useful items like a collar, leash, favourite toy, blanket with the scent of their mother and litter mates and an amount of the food the ate until now. They also receive a map filled with information about parents, litter mates, photo's and important dates like when to vaccinate and de-worm and information e.c.t. |
